THE LAW!!!

<a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yOSSgqu8TZ0&amp;feature=player_embedded"><a href="http://jamesoneyjr.wordpress.com/2009/04/21/the-law/">

Romans 7:1-6

Focal verse [2]

"For the woman which hath a husband is bound by the law to her husband so long as he liveth; but if the husband be dead, she is loosed from the law of her husband."

First and foremost I would like to say, Please Do Not Seek To Kill Your Spouses!!! (Laughter) This article is to show you the awesomeness of our Father.

Let's first get the preliminaries out of the way.
The phrase..."Until death do us part . . ." "is a reality statement of marriage. In the midst of the teary happiness of the wedding vows, reality enters in. This covenant will be broken by death." The Complete Book of Everyday Christianity

Under the Roman Law polygamy and polyandry were forbidden. To marry another while one's spouse was still living and without a legal divorce was adultery. So, the greatest Covenant we have is marriage. Why? Because marriage is a permanent union which in general is broken only by the death of one of the partners. Therefore, only death breaks the Marital Union.

Jesus Christ died on the Cross for our sins for two reasons &#8211; to redeem us, and to fulfill the law (covenant). Allow me to enlighten you. When God cuts covenant it is until death do you part. So, the covenant God cut with Abraham could not stop. It was an everlasting covenant. The only way to break it is if God dies since God was the one who cut covenant with him or in better terms, made a promise to Abraham. The thing is, God cannot die.
Let's understand more. Jesus was Word in the flesh. The Old Covenant or (Law) was in Christ. In Matthew 5:17 Jesus states that he did not come to destroy the Law, but to fulfill. Jesus Christ was the Old Covenant personified [made flesh]. When Jesus died on Calvary's Cross He was the ultimate sacrifice and atonement for our sins. Why did Christ die? So God can release Himself from that Old Covenant. Jesus said this blood represents the new covenant. But why would God want to do this. Simple, in order to free us from the Law; During the Old Covenant we were bound by the Law; in order for us to be loosed from that law and to have a relationship with God, Jesus Christ had to die.
That is so awesome. God is truly Sovereign and Holy. He is in control of everything.

You know, before we accepted Christ the Law revealed sin to us; now that we are Christians the Holy Spirit reveals sin to us.

Be Blessed

MORE THAN CONQUERORS

written by: James Oney

"Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us."

Conqueror = to be victorious

Victorious = having won a victory

In Paul's letter to the Roman Church he declared the most insightful statement that a lot of church members use to this day and that is, "we are more than conquerors". Do we really know what we're saying? Do we really believe that "we are more than conquerors"? A lot of times we as Christian people quote scriptures and clichés that we've heard from somebody else and we really don't know what it means. For years, I've always quoted "we are more than conquerors" not knowing what it fully meant. I just said it because I heard other Christians say it.

See, the word conqueror means to be victorious, or to have won a victory; and the word more means greater. So we can conclude that we are greater than one victory. In other words, we win all the time, because greater is He that is in me, than he that is in the world. Satan is defeated and God has given us dominion and power over sin. So when situations come our way we can stand on the Word of God and who He says we are, and that is, "MORE THAN CONQUERORS". To God Be the Glory!!!!

HIDE AND GO SEEK

Joshua 6-7
How many of you remember the childhood game Hide and Go Seek. I have played this game plenty of times in my neighborhood growing up. The strategy of the game is to seek and reveal the person who was hiding. Well, in these chapters of Joshua it epitomizes the essence of this game.
In this story, Joshua, acouragous warriorhas been directed by God to march around the city of Jericho with all the men of war, one time for six days. On the seventh day, march around the city seven times and the city walls will collapse. God told Joshua "I have handed Jericho, its king, and it's fighting men over to you." However, God told them to keep themselves from the things set apart, or they will be set apart for destruction.
To make the long story short, the Israelites were unfaithful regarding those things that were set apart for destruction. A man named Achan took some of what was set apart, and the Lord's anger burned against the Israelites. So much that the Israelites lost a battle against Ai; a battle that was supposed to have been a victory for the Israelites.
Joshua was very upset, upset to the point that he tore his clothes and fell before the ark of the Lord. Not knowing why they lost, Joshua began to question God "Oh, Lord God, why did You ever bring these people across the Jordan to hand us over to the Amorites for our destruction." God responded and said "Israel has sinned, they have taken some of what was set apart."
I know you are probably wandering, what on God's green earth does this have to do with Hide and Go Seek...? I was just setting the stage for this moment right here.
God explained how to seek and reveal who has taken the things that were set apart; Present yourselves tribe by tribe, clan by clan, family by family and lastly, man by man. So, Joshua woke up early that next morning and followed the orders of God. Through the process, Achan was revealed. Joshua made these strong thought provoking words towards Achan..."don't hide anything from me."
Are we hiding any secret sins? Sins that we have buried in the depths of our emotions and heart! Just like Joshua and Achan, God wants us to search, seek, and reveal our secret sins so they may be destroyed from our lives forever. Let's seek what's hidden!!! Be Blessed!

God told Joshua ?I have handed Jericho, its king, and it?s fighting men over to you.? However, God told them to keep themselves from the things set apart, or they will be set apart for destruction.

To make the long story short, the Israelites were unfaithful regarding those things that were set apart for destruction. A man named Achan took some of what was set apart, and the Lord?s anger burned against the Israelites. So much that the Israelites lost a battle against Ai; a battle that was supposed to have been a victory for the Israelites.

Joshua was very upset, upset to the point that he tore his clothes and fell before the ark of the Lord. Not knowing why they lost, Joshua began to question God ?Oh, Lord God, why did You ever bring these people across the Jordan to hand us over to the Amorites for our destruction.? God responded and said ?Israel has sinned, they have taken some of what was set apart.?

I know you are probably wandering, what on God?s green earth does this have to do with Hide and Go Seek?? I was just setting the stage for this moment right here.

God explained how to seek and reveal who has taken the things that were set apart; Present yourselves tribe by tribe, clan by clan, family by family and lastly, man by man. So, Joshua woke up early that next morning and followed the orders of God. Through the process, Achan was revealed. Joshua made these strong thought provoking words towards Achan??don?t hide anything from me.?

Are we hiding any secret sins? Sins that we have buried in the depths of our emotions and heart! Just like Joshua and Achan, God wants us to search, seek, and reveal our secret sins so they may be destroyed from our lives forever. Let?s seek what?s hidden!!! Be Blessed!
