Bio

Born James Oney Jr. in a humid city called Panama City, Fl. James was blessed to be born into a musical family where he started playing the drums at the tender age of three. His parents always encourage him to use the gifts that God has instilled in him. Through life, James never considered himself a hard knock; but rather a hard head. Although James’ parents taught him the Word of God and they themselves never strayed away from the TRUTH, he traveled his own path. In high school James began to notice the gift of poetry/writing. He began to craft his art and joined a local rap group called NuBreed; better known as Nocturnal. For the first time, James saw how lust and greed could grab and choke the life out of you. He began to experience a series of events that would ultimately lead him to salvation. In April 2001 James surrendered his life to the Lord. That day began a whole new chapter in his life.

After his conversion James began to be discipled by a young lady named Jenifer Fields who took him and showed him how to grow in the faith. This is one of the reasons why he is so passionate about making disciples. As time progressed James began to discern a calling on his life. In 2002 God called him into the ministry as a Youth Pastor. James has been serving in this capacity for seven years.
James’ desire and passion is for Christians is to live as Christians. He hates to see the church playing church. He believes one of the reasons why people don’t come to the faith is because of Christians not wanting to conform to the standards of Christ.
James is married with two sons, Caleb and Israel.

MORE THAN CONQUERORS

written by: James Oney

victory

“Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.”

Conqueror = to be victorious

Victorious = having won a victory

In Paul’s letter to the Roman Church he declared the most insightful statement that a lot of church members use to this day and that is, “we are more than conquerors”. Do we really know what we’re saying? Do we really believe that “we are more than conquerors”? A lot of times we as Christian people quote scriptures and clichés that we’ve heard from somebody else and we really don’t know what it means. For years, I’ve always quoted “we are more than conquerors” not knowing what it fully meant. I just said it because I heard other Christians say it.

See, the word conqueror means to be victorious, or to have won a victory; and the word more means greater. So we can conclude that we are greater than one victory. In other words, we win all the time, because greater is He that is in me, than he that is in the world. Satan is defeated and God has given us dominion and power over sin. So when situations come our way we can stand on the Word of God and who He says we are, and that is, “MORE THAN CONQUERORS”. To God Be the Glory!!!!
